It is 6 am in the morning and we all very excited to experience the 1st visit to Ooty from Bangalore. We all got ready and on the way to Ooty the journey was amazing. During the journey we saw wonderful sightseeing all through. Ooty is the place which we have seen in many Hindi movies and songs and really be there to view all those mountains, great lakes, dense forests, sprawling grasslands, miles of tea gardens was exciting.
It was a nice trip. We friends went there by car. Climate was absolutely super. Places are super especially Thotapetta, Rose Garden and falls are really superb. We went boating also and we went Muthumalai forest. Its near by Ooty and we saw forest elephants very closely. Superb trip and quite unforgettable.
Travelling to Ooty by flight is neither cheap nor time saving as nearest airport is Coimbatore and you still have to travel close to 4 hours in cab. The best option should have been train which will also include toy train to Ooty from the base town. (sorry if I forgot the name of base town).
I went for a trip to Ooty and they picked up us from the bus station at around 11.50 pm, special thanks to the receptionist for providing the transport. We stayed there for 2 nights in suit room, it was fine.
We took the steam engine train while returning, it was a great experience. The forward journey on the steam engine would be long journey hence decided the return. Reduce the luggage's as much as possible. Since the seating is cramped. Train stops in between stations, and will get some snacks at hill grove stations so donít pack much for the snacks.
