Chennai to Ooty by toy train was such a nice experience. The toy train starts after this Nilgiri Express reaches, Mettupalyam Station. It was good with very pleasant weather, very economical when I planned in advance, a weekend of 2 or 3 days is sufficient.
I had a very comfortable journey from KPN travels and at the same time they maintain the timing in such a good manner. They reach the place in time and at the same time passenger can feel a safety from them. High safety to the ladies. Passenger can travel in full hope.
We made the mistake of starting around 10 in the morning, four hours later than our scheduled time. The Journey through GST Road till Ulundurpet-Salem toll road turn off was very good except at the Toll plazas where it is a free for all. The Salem Ulundurpet Toll road is good except for the fact that at many places it is still two lane.
Once you cross Salem and take the Salem Coimbatore Highway it is a breeze till Perundurai from where the highway has lot of speed breakers. I turned off at Tirupur and reached Mettupalayam. From Mettupalayam I decided to take the Kothagiri route up to Ooty.
It is 6 am in the morning and we all very excited to experience the 1st visit to Ooty from Bangalore. We all got ready and on the way to Ooty the journey was amazing. During the journey we saw wonderful sightseeing all through. Ooty is the place which we have seen in many Hindi movies and songs and really be there to view all those mountains, great lakes, dense forests, sprawling grasslands, miles of tea gardens was exciting.
