It was good and sometimes it's bad due to last minute plans for the journey but most of the time I enjoyed my trip when ever I managed to book and reached the bus destination on time. It's little fast but sometimes scarier the way the bus driver drove the bus.
I travelled from Chennai to Pondicherry by bus and it was awesome. It's the journey which I will remember the whole of my life. Earlier I was sceptic about using the site for reservation but it was worth it. I had the best time of my life.
I am sure you will enjoy the drive as itís along the coast. There are lot of hotels and places to eat and in case you want to relax for a bit then the beaches are a good place to go to. There are not many hotels to go to in Pondicherry but you should not miss Baker Street in M.G road. You will get one of the best burgers ever there. Overall itís a good place to go to with your friends. Book hotels a week ago in case you are planning to drop in on a weekend.
The sightseeing was nice and I saw some places like temple, park and boathouse and passed a lot of time. Our mind was so peaceful that I thoroughly enjoyed the travelling. But car travelling was little boring but we din't had an option so it was ok. Train and flight were better options but donít have service to this place.
The one and only train which goes to the destination is Karaikal Express. I would suggest choosing berth though the seats are not tidy. The journey was amazing. I had a really good time with my family. I would recommend having idly in Kumbakonam. The idyll is too soft and no one can forget in their life time. As usual the toilets are not at all clean. The Railway canteen foods are not in the desired standard, it is better to pack food from home.
