Ride on Pamban Bridge was an enjoyable moment. We departed from Chennai at 9 pm and reached Rameswaram at 8 am. The climate was hot but we enjoyed the new welcoming atmosphere. Buses were not allowed inside the city. So we had to take an auto to the hotel. For security reasons no vehicles were permitted to go near the temple and so we had to walk 10 metres to MCM Towers which was very close to the temple. We returned to Chennai by Sethu Express.
It was a wonderful experience travelling in the train from Chennai to Rameshwaram and it was a new experience while travelling in the Pamban Bridge in the middle of the sea and overall it was excellent. The train was in good condition and we have enjoyed the journey.
I travelled in SRS Travels from Chennai to Rameshwaram for last month in sleeper non-AC. The bus service was very good and I like the experience. And the travels reached the destination in scheduled time. Bus sleeper was very good. Then they reached the boarding point at the particular time. Bus quality was very good and the bus took halts at hygienic food places.
We choose train to travel to Rameshwaram. We booked 3 AC ticket just one week before 2 families as group travelled and travelling is good. Train reached right time at Devi Pattinam. There we worshipped Rama's Nava pasana Navagraga Temple at sea shore area. Then we travelled to Rameswaram by Taxi. Taxi driver Mr. Kannan very good and he helped lot to visit the temple very quick and comfortably, then we went to Dhanush Kodi and very surprised to see temples and old houses, rain stations and church etc.
The travel was good. Since we took a car, we could stop wherever we wanted to. That is the best part about having a car. On the way we did stop at couple of places for photographs. There are roadside food stalls where you can go and have a plate of Alu Bada/Idly/Dhosa or you can have a cup of tea/coffee.
