Ahmedabad is located at a distance of 915 km from Delhi. Ahmedabad, also called the 'Manchester of the East', is well-connected to Delhi by road, air and railways.
However, the best way to reach from Delhi to Ahmedabad is by air. A direct flight from Delhi can take you to Ahmedabad in little less than 1 hour 30 minutes. Almost all airlines like Indigo, Jetlite, Kingfisher and SpiceJet have flights operating between Delhi and Ahmedabad.
Not upto satisfaction in terms of airbus service and timing. Spicejet services before 5 to 7 years ago was satisfied. Now owing to competitive rate and market competition its quite obvious to bad services. I now not prefer Spicejet and otherwise to go in Rajdhani Express as Ahmedabad to Delhi. Food is better in Railways than provided in thus type of airways services.
Good trip in Ashram Express from old Delhi junction to Ahmedabad in sleeper class. Got confirmed ticket through Tatkal service of Indian railways. Compartments are neat and clean but there is no pantry car in this train and it is disappointing.
Ashram express passes via Jaipur (pink city), Ajmer (religious place), Abu Road, Sabarmati to Ahmedabad. You can take your meal at Jaipur because its time in Jaipur is 20:25. So, its great time to take food.
Since this train is super fast so it has less stoppages. Toilets are neat and clean at Delhi Station but after some times it start smelling.
I boarded Rajdhani for Ahmadabad, but I am sorry to say food of Rajdhani Tarin has gone pathetic, both in quality and quantity. Why Indian Government is not looking after this matter, Rajdhani trains are pride of our nation but we are losing it, due to elegance of railways and its officials.
On September 28th, 2014 my family and I travelled by Rajdhani Express. It was a good experience as it was safe and a comfortable journey. The food was ok and other amenities like air conditioning, food, service, laundry and hygiene was ok.
Can certainly be made better but in comparison to other trains, we found Rajdhani better in standards of service for a 12 hours journey.
It was a nice and comfortable journey, not much cleanliness though. Food quality was also not so good. The bedding etc was very old and torn at many places. Seats were not so clean and mice could be easily seen under the seats. Ticket collectors were in uniform and housekeeping was also quite satisfactory.
