Kolkata is located at a distance of about 1530 km from Delhi. Kolkata, the City of Joy, is well-connected to Delhi by rail, road and airways.
However, the best way to reach from Delhi to Kolkata is by air. You can board a direct flight from Delhi and reach Kolkata in less than 2 hours 30 minutes. Almost all airlines like Indigo, SpiceJet and Air India operate daily flights from Delhi to Kolkata.
Very poor & I can't recomend to travel by this flight but my come back experience in Air India's Dreamliner flight experience was very beautiful.
This was my first experience to travel by this flight. So it is difficult to comment about its timings, convenience etc. It goes without saying that airport at Delhi is definitely a well planned one with all required facilities as one ought to be.
Even the airport at Kolkata is good one, well connected to the main city by all means of city transport. Chargeable food was available on board.
Travelling in govt airline is one of the best experience. Aircraft’s are bigger, neat and clean and food is also good. Staff are very courteous and helpful. Flight timings are perfect and flights are on time. Good to see almost all the flights of this state run airlines packed to the capacity.
It was on time and I like Air India because of its connectivity to number of destinations. The seats were comfortable and the food was nice. I am also assured by the fact that it is Govt owned. Service has improved over the years but using the website is still very painful as there is time lags and incorrect information.
Love the fact that assistance is offered for travellers with connecting flights. This is comforting when women / children are travelling alone. However, quality or timely service is missing. Call centres are only helpful to an extent of standard replies to standard queries. Check-in time has also increased greatly, esp at major airports. Overall, my airline of choice.
It was a good experience as I travelled from Punjab to Kolkata. First I took a train from Sirhind to Delhi then took Poorva Express to Vardhman Station. Then I took a bus from Vardhman to Katwa. and then an auto rickshaw from Katwa to Behrampur. After that I stayed for two nights three days at Hotel Sunshine, Behrampur.
