Kolkata is located at a distance of about 1530 km from Delhi. Kolkata, the City of Joy, is well-connected to Delhi by rail, road and airways.
However, the best way to reach from Delhi to Kolkata is by air. You can board a direct flight from Delhi and reach Kolkata in less than 2 hours 30 minutes. Almost all airlines like Indigo, SpiceJet and Air India operate daily flights from Delhi to Kolkata.
It was a good experience as I travelled from Punjab to Kolkata. First I took a train from Sirhind to Delhi then took Poorva Express to Vardhman Station. Then I took a bus from Vardhman to Katwa. and then an auto rickshaw from Katwa to Behrampur. After that I stayed for two nights three days at Hotel Sunshine, Behrampur.
For the first time when I went to Kolkata, the journey took almost four or five years (I don't remember actually). There were some bauls (flowers) who were begging and singing. And there were lots of stuffs to eat and the view outside the window attracted me throughout the travelling.
Journey was good. Flight was on time. Flight was very comfortable seats. Food was good and fresh. Overall experience was excellent. Delhi airport is best airport in India so I didn't feel bored over there. There was so many thing to time pass. All major brands store was there.
I was flying Kolkata to New Delhi on 9th October 2013, along with my family including one child and one senior citizen. I paid Rs 1290 for sky cafe meals. But I received only 2 meals. That costs Rs 220 and 190. The reason was shown only 2 meals was printed in Jet airway's system, even my printout is also showing 2 meals. After paying Rs 1290 if 2 meals coupons were printed it is entirely Airways system fault. The child and senior citizen were hungry for long time. After requesting for long time and after wasting long time cabin crew managed to provide 2 "COMPLIMENTARY VEG MEALS". The child was not ready to take that veg meal and she remained hungry. I filled up a feedback form regarding this matter. Hope the concern authority didn't received the form. The cabin crew advised us to make a complain to check in counter but it was not possible for us after landing at T3 in New Delhi airport with hungry family members to go again check in counter and make a complain. rnrnThe entire experience was pathetic and service was extremely poor. After several mail exchange Jet Airways paid me back the rest amount of 4 meals.
