Surat being a major city is easily reachable from other Indian cities. By rail: Most of the trains running on Mumbai-Ahemdabad route halt at Surat. also, many rickshaws and GSRTC Buses are readily available from bus stand near railway station. By road: Surat is located at about 260 km from Mumbai and 240 km from Ahemdabad near NH8. The excellent conditions of roads make driving an pleasing experience. By Air: Domestic airport exists at Surat. Travel-tips : Tourists travelling from Maharashtra can visit Saputara( hill station, about 2-3 hrs away from Surat) on return via Nasik road. Also, tourists returning via NH8 can take diversion to visit Daman en-route. Negotiate on rickshaw fare beforehand on consulting locals. Also, art of bargaining can strike good deals while shopping !

Surat is easily reachable place located on National Highway no. 8 and on western broad-gauge railway line connecting Mumbai-Ahmedabad-Delhi. It has an Airport to fly Mumbai. It is 280 kms from Mumbai and 230 kms. from Ahmedabad by road. Intra-city transportation is also good mainly depending on metered auto-rickshaws and city bus services.
