You can go to Ayodhya from Lucknow and Allahabad. It is quite close to Lucknow. If you want to go from Mumbai, there is a direct train from Kurla to Faizabad - Saket Express. This train is available thrice a week. Or you can take a flight to Lucknow and from there hire a taxi to Faizabad. You can also go to Allahabad, from there you can get a train to Faizabad. These destinations are connected with all cities in India.

From Mumbai take a train - Pushpak express to Lucknow and from there a train to Ayodhya Ganka Sagar to go to Ayodhya. and while coming Saket express to Mumbai directly.
