Reaching Kalimpong by road - Kalimpong is 2.5 Hrs from Bagdogra airport and about 2 hours from Siliguri. Gangtok is about 3.5 hrs and Darjeeling 3 hrs by road. Travel Safe ? Use local recognised travel services and go with the information provided by your hotel or lodge. Do not entertain the hawkers and agents.

Well, we went in June month when rain has started but no need to take even light woollen in summers as you may need fans in the hotels. Kalimpong is best approachable while going to Gangtok. If you are willing to reside in a hotel in the midst of natural beauty then better you keep the car along with you in order to make your journey hassle-proof. People are friendly but market closes latest by 8 pm sharp.

Neora Valley: The Neora Valley is located in Northern part of the State of West Bengal in the tri-junction of West Bengal, Sikkim and Bhutan. The valley is cradled in the Eastern Himalayas. Going there: The nearest airport is Bagdogra, which is well connected with Calcutta. Calcutta is connected by air with every part of the world. The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri and is connected with both Calcutta and Delhi well. Both from airport and railway station, one has to travel by USV to the Neora Valley. Where to stay: Neora Valley The Jungle Camp run by the Help Tourism is the only place to stay in this virgin wilderness. Help Tourism provides birding facilities, trekking and wildlife sighting jeep safari.

Mesmerising Kalimpong

One can take taxi from New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri or Bagdogra. It takes around 2-3 hours to reach Kalimpong from the earlier mentioned places. Shared taxis are also available. As a warning, the visitors are to keep in mind that this sleepy town lacks night life and the hotels prefer to have the orders for dinner early.
