If travelling from delhi, Till Muzaffarnagar the road is excellent with avg speed of around 70-80 kmph however after that thestretch after is a narrow road, though under construction. Reaching haridwar and after that towards Rishikesh is a challenge due to the narrow roads.

Following information will help the participants:- (a) The number of participants in rafting course is 15, which generally undershoots. (b) Participants should reach Haridwar a day before the start of the Course. Generally you will not find any difficulty in getting a taxi or Bus from Haridwar to Kaudiyala if you reach before 1600h. After this time you may not get a bus. Taxi is very expensive. All buses going towards Dev Prayag and Srinagar will pass through Rishikesh and Kaudiyala invariably. GMVN Kaudiyala is 36 Kms from Rishikesh. It is in the beginning of Kaudiyala town. Nearest other major town is Byasi which is about five Kms short of Kaudiyala. (c) You will be accommodated in tents. But on request and depending upon bookings and availability, some of you may be accommodated in GMVN bungalows. (d) Catering is free from the dinner of the day prior to commencement of the course to the lunch of concluding day. Standard three meals with bed tea and evening tea. Extras will be charged. (e) You will be provided with Life Jacket, Helmet and pedals before start of the course and nothing else in kitting. So, please carry appropriate Kit i.e. Shorts, T Shirts and All Weather Chappals. Also carry a track suit for trekking and woolens if the course is in winters. Temperature there is generally less than plains. (f) Kaudiyala is a very small town with only two basic grocery shops. So, don’t expect any shopping or ATM facility etc there. Mobile connectivity is very poor. A BSNL tower is there but it experiences frequent breakdown. Airtel and Idea signal was also available off and on. (g) Liuquor and non-veg lovers will be disappointed because it is a ‘Dev Bhumi’. (h) Knowledge of swimming is of great help and will give you greater confidence. (j) Families may be permitted with your own liaison and understanding with GMVN. (k) Carry a torch and minimum first aid kit. The nearest medical facility is available at Rishikesh. Basic medical assistance may be requested from ITBP camp and GREF element at Shivpuri which is at a distance of 24 Kms from Kaudiyala towards Rishikesh. (l) Remember, it is an adventure course, so be mentally and physically fit before undertaking this course. Excitement lies in facing the challenges and not in avoiding them. Rishikesh is 238 kms north east of Delhi and is located in the Garhwal region of Uttaranchal. It is a pleasant 6 hour road journey from Delhi. It is best to get down at 'Muni ki Reti' and then either cross the Ganges by walking over the Ram jhula or take the ferry which is available from morning till evening 6pm.
