We travelled from Mumbai to Jaipur by Superfast Express. After completion of sight seeing around Jaipur, we took overnight train - Jaipur-Udaipur Inter city Express. From Udaipur Station, Autos will normally charge Rs.40 to Rs.60/-( depending upon the distance) for droping at the hotels. It will be advisable to book hotels well in advance during Diwali vacations (domestic tourist season) and during late December upto end January (foreign tourist season).

There's a lot of walking and climbing of steps to do in Udaipur. As the old part of the city is built on a slope, even the simplest of walks becomes an uphill climb. So - be sure to take a pair of good walking shoes along!
