Guntur is situated at a distance of 268 km from Hyderabad. A centre for business, industry and agriculture, and holding historical significance, Guntur is well connected to Hyderabad by road, rail and air.
However, the best way to reach Guntur from Hyderabad is by road, a journey of about 5 hours 20 minutes by car. Overall travelling experience is not bad, good and smooth journey. But bus quality is somewhat to remark. For entertainment they provided TV and high quality movies were played. At some times in the middle of the journey it was very frustrating but it's just for two or three times when the roads are not good and I felt that the driving is too speed at times. I could tell you this because I was not sleeping and watching movies throughout my journey.
Road was excellent. I had a great time. The roads are really good. I went by car and it was a comfortable journey indeed. As a family we were very happy, and this has to do with a lot of the aspects; the people we met at the roads were good, the food we had was tasty and the places we visited were really good too. So, overall it was a good journey.
I happened to travel by AC Vennala bus to Guntur. Unlike the normal buses, you would have complete privacy. You will not feel the road potholes or bumps. The bus is well built to bear all the discomforts of the road. You reach your place with complete ease without loss of any energy.
I preferred Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) services for a comfortable journey in a sleeper class.
Service was good with food, pillows, water and all comforts. There were lots of entertainment in the bus with pleasant movies and my advice is to bring your own blankets and carry sufficient water and don't forget anything which belongs to you at the time of getting down from the bus.
