I choose Air India AI 343 for the flight timing was good and on their relatively new aircraft the dream liner.
The flight was late by about 20 min and no one bothered to make any announcement till the last minute which was surprising.
When I first boarded, it was quite amazing, but on a closer look their was dust everywhere- like the aircraft was never even cleaned.
I was seated on seat 30A which is at the emergency exit. The door was covered in dust and bear in mind guys this is almost a brand new Aircraft. The next thing I noticed is the panel near the bathroom was damaged- like someone had rammed the food trolley into it and a shoddy cover job of covering it up with duct tape was done. I have attached the photo of the damage.
Also on take-off heard a lot of noise coming from the cubicles like they were missing a few screws.
To give credit where credit is due, the food was pretty good and the cabin staff were quite friendly and did do a good job and go about the cabin but they were lacking the professionalism that most of the other airlines like Emirates, Singapore etc have.
The next thing that shocked me was the toilet condition next to the emergency exit located near rows 30. The toilet seat just did not want to stay up, which meant that you had to hold it up by one had while doing your business. I was just not expecting this especially from an almost brand new aircraft.
Makes one think that this is exactly why Air India has such low occupancy rates as the flight I was on was barely even half full.
The in-flight entertainment system was spot on, good touch screen and decent movies. I would like to add that I found no smudge marks or left over food on the seat/screen which was a major plus.
The seat was very comfortable and pretty good leg room. The check-in and boarding process were quite smooth and hassle free. The check in staff at Singapore were quite helpful.
I do know its a lot to ask for but if only Air India could pick-up its socks and make the flights cleaner and make sure things work as they are supposed to- they would be a far better Airline.
Apart from the delayed flight, the travel was mostly good. I travel by Air India because of the food and I was not disappointed this time as well. The baggage arrival at Mumbai was quick. Finding an Auto at the departure is always a problem. Finally had to take a cab back home.
Flight was usually late rendering to the monsoon flight schedules in Mumbai. It was initially 35 minutes delay announced but after completing security check-in delay was increased to 1 hour and after that to 1.5 hrs. Food was nice in the flight and didn't face much turbulence. .
I enjoyed my flight journey at peaks the crew were awesome, the food in the flight is also good. Above all I had a wonderful experience in Hyderabad Airport! At Hyderabad Airport the staff are very good, it is stuffed with shopping sorts and many more Mumbai Airport is also good but Hyderabad is the best!!!
It took me around 15 hours from Hyderabad to Mumbai. Left Hyderabad in the evening and reached next morning. The highway road directions are well-maintained to easily reach. The roads are well-maintained. I stopped at the the food restaurants which have good food.
