Visakhapatnam is located at a distance of 620 km from Hyderabad. Vishakhapatnam, the port city, is well-connected to Hyderabad by road, rail and air.
However, the best way to reach Vishakhapatnam from Hyderabad is by road. The journey from Hyderabad to Vishakhapatnam takes around 9 hours and the main towns en-route are Hyderabad 57 km -> Choutuppal 82 km -> Suryapet 59 km -> Jaggaiahpet 74 km -> Krishna 60 km -> West Godavari 53 km -> Tadepalligudem 22 km -> Tanuku 62 km -> Rajahmundry 97 km -> Tuni 72 km -> Anakapalle 27 km -> Vishakhapatnam. There are several rest stops on the way. Petrol pumps, including Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC), are available at regular intervals.
My bus is new one, in which audio system was very good. Bus operator played some movie, which I have not seen. Coming to the speed of the bus first 2. 5 hours bus went in over speed, felt very happy but small fear in mind, if any one came across suddenly, driver doesn't have chance to avoid, defiantly he will hit that one, after that bus was in a good speed. But bus was stopped at a hotel, that is some what rich, I dint have more money on my pocket, I asked to the supervisor that debit card swiping is available, he said no, I want to taste the biryani due to lack of money in the pocket I was not able to.
Excellent road facility from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam and this is very economical for a 4 member family by a car than 3 AC train and flight. I always love driving and road journey right from the childhood. There are number of places to visit in between Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam like temples, resorts, boating etc.
Comfortable, the train was over crowded due vacations and marriages crowed. Services, neatness of toilets were good. We have travelled by A/c chair car. The A/c was comfortable. Catering was satisfactory. Never felt any inconvenience. As for as Visakhapatnam city it is a beautiful place. The food in the hotel was homely.
I was very excited to see the flight above the sea in Vizag. It was a breath-taking experience and good to see the sea from above. it was after the hud hud cyclone I went. I could able to see the destruction it caused. It was a very disheartening to see Vizag in a such a state.
As it was a night journey I couldn't find any interesting things but the maintenance is very good especially the dress code of diversity & cleaned bed sheets & pillows as I travelled from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam. It was an AC sleeper bus I felt that they stopped the AC in between 2 to 4am only the blower was running. FINALLY The experience was good.
