It was an awesome trip from Indore to Udaipur with car along with family. Roads were excellent with tolls all the way till Udaipur. We started from Indore via Ujjain, Nagda, Mandsaur. The best time to start is in the morning as it took 7-8 hours to reach Udaipur. We rested at couple of places during drive as we were not in hurry to reach Udaipur before evening. We enjoyed sightseeing enroute to Udaipur.
Udaipur is city of lakes with some adventures sports like speed scooter ride in lake and cable car till Karni Mata Temple was excellent. Make sure that car is in perfect condition as it is going in the highway. You may not find puncture repairing road side specially and fill petrol for a good and safe drive.
I enjoyed the trip and we had a wonderful experience. It was the best time spent with the family and sightseeing was good. Vintage car show was the best part of my trip. It was a lovely city and overall a great place and the best time to travel is during Autumn.
7 hours of driving time including 3 stops. Lunch , tea and loo. The roads in Madhya Pradesh have improved unbelievably in the last 10 years. It took us less than 7 hours. Our SUV doesn’t tire us at all and is a real joy on these roads. Some sections of the road were not so good in Rajasthan though.
Best route is Indore-Ujjain- Jaora - Neemuch- Udaipur. Between Mandsaur and Neemuch there's the famous Makhan Da Dhaba which is a must visit for all foodies.
Had to take a bus for travel since trip was planned in the 11th hour. Overall experience was terrible of travelling by bus. It was not a Volvo so you can feel the suspension while on travel. Your night can turn into a nightmare with this bus travel. Suggest to travel by train as it is much more comfortable.
It was a day and night journey with my partner in AC. So there was nothing to say about station held between both station. We both had enough to say to each other about life and future journey but yes train was nice due to supportive co- passengers. Actually two other couple were our co- passengers who made our journey happier.
