Mostly a lot of Mega Cab Service available for transportation in Chandigarh. Very Cheap and airconditioned Luxury taxis at just Rs.12 Per km. And other Luxury local bus service by Chandigarh Administration is also very cheap and good. The quality of life mixed with western & traditional.

Finding a hotel in Chandigarh can be a challanging job. I would suggest anyone to land straight into Himachal Bhavan. This is not a regular hotel but Himachal Tourism's centre where they provide accomodation for tourists at a reasonable cost (Less than 2500/day). Its a clean place, ample parking, excellent food and services, most importantly, its bang on the 'Madhya Marg'. More budget option is 'Indian Palace' near Mani Majra bus stand. You could get confused at the very entry in Chandigarh. The confusion is because of sectors of Panchkula. Make sure you are in Chandigarh proper. The sector system is now useful for you. For autorikshaws and taxis - settle the charges before you hire them.

well connected from delhi by rail, road and air. if time is the priority, air travel, if budget, jan shatabdi express or bus. taxis are not prevelant in the city, autos are rare too. rickshaws are popular. local buses for distances unmanageable by rickshaw
