Winters are heavy. Carry good Sweaters and Jackets. Try to engage taxi. Better to start from Delhi or from Jaipur as the center place for all directions. Better to travel in Feb/March.

From Mumbai, suryanagri express or ranakpur express trains which are a good travel, overnight journey. Best would be to fly down, the landscape from the plane is worth a watch. Internal city commute is expensive but I guess that is their sole earnings - tourism.
