Quick trip to Gokarna!

Travel: There are no direct trains or flights operating from Bangalore to Gokarna. Fortunately we have government and private buses like Seabird travels, VRL travels etc. available. It’s approximately 12 hours journey by bus. For those who aren’t comfy with bus journey, there is a roundabout way to reach this place. Take a flight till Goa and then train from Goa till Gokarna. Of course you can drive down or simply use cab service. Or even better just pop in an avomin just like I did and use the economical bus service to save time, money and energy… Travel tips: Take swimwear along. Pair of flip-flops/slip-ons Shoes for trekking Sunscreen lotion Dark glasses Cap/Hat Couple of Bedspreads will come in handy while relaxing on beach (you can buy them on the beach close to Namaste café also) Water bottle (optional) Torch Toiletries

You could walk. You should walk! For once thing, the autos are expensive but you, yourself would justify the outrageous costs. And then, the exhilaration is just mind-blowing. Here's what you should do. Start from Gokarna and climb up the hill to reach Om Beach. It's a 6 km climb, and on the way up, you get crazy kind of views of the beaches. Great stuff for photographers. Once you're at the beach find a hut or shack, check-in and go about spending some good time at the beach. Later in the afternoon or something, start walking towards half-moon it is amazing! It's a 20 minutes' walk. And from there, walk for 30 more minutes and you reach Paradise. Safety is not assured in Paradise. Entry is authorized in fact. But you see a lot people there. Nevertheless, don't try going alone. Maybe the next day start walking to Kudle beach. You first climb the hill up from Om beach and the climb down to Kudle beach. Do not try if you don't got the stamina. The air's weird and the sun's got no mercy. If you are driving / riding, please be careful. The roads on the hills are meant for daredevils like you. You don't wanna end up killing someone just because your stupid break failed.
