Lucknow is located at a distance of 84 km from Kanpur. Lucknow, the City of the Nawabs, is well-connected to Kanpur by road and rail.
The best way to reach Lucknow from Kanpur is by road. It takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes to drive from Kanpur to Lucknow. The places covered during the journey are Kanpur 22 km -> Unnao 23 km -> Ajgain 39 km -> Lucknow. There are many petrol pumps run by IOC, HPCL and BPCL at regular intervals that provide 24 hour services as well as clean restroom facilities.
The train Gomti Express was on time i.e. at 7:10 am as always. As we know Lucknow is called the city of nawabs so I was so much excited about it. The train was clean and in a good condition. The toilets were clean and hygienic. Food, water and other refreshment were in good and fresh condition. It is one of the super-fast express so you can imagine the adventure it offers in the whole journey you can feel the intense beauty on looking out of the train through the windows. The service of the train is good. One of the thing I would like to mention is about the beauty of the Charbagh Station it is so clean and nice. Lucknow is famous for many of the historical buildings which you should visit once. The people of Lucknow spoke so politely, gently and with respect.
My journey starts from Kanpur to Lucknow through highway road. Condition of this road was normal. The best time for journey is in the morning because there were no traffic in the morning at that day. We took lunch in Bhutpurv Sainik Bhojnalaya. It was very good and food was too good. After that we started our journey again with my whole family and we took cold drinks on the way.
If you are travelling by train on this route, at any time of the year, make sure you get proper reservation or your comfy and happy journey will become a hectic, tiring, stinky journey. I made that mistake so I am sharing this with you all. As we travelled from Bareilly to Lucknow, the journey was cool, overcast weather added all the fun that we had and we got adequate space too. But on our way back, tables got turned, overcast weather became sunny, adequate space fell out of the screenplay. Lucknow is a good place and has a good public transport network, so there wouldn't be a problem in travelling. There are a lot of place you can visit such as Baradari, Bhool-bhulaiya, etc if you like historical monument, then you have want you want to see. Science Centre is a must visit, if you want to see something different. Gomti Nagar is an awesome place provided you visit that at night or I should say the later the better. Some of the food stuff you must have is Tunday Kabab, Tera pani...
I travelled from Lucknow to Kanpur and it was a good experience. Bus was very comfortable and reached correctly on time. During the travel I saw many places. SRS bus was very clean and comfortable. SRS bus service was also good. We can also book online tickets and I always choose SRS Bus because service was very nice.
