Manali - an heavenly abode
Getting there:-Manali is easily accessible via road from Delhi, Chandigarh & Shimla. No idea about train. Jagson airlines fly on daily basis from Delhi. They drop you at Bhuntar which is 50Km away from Manali. From there you can take a taxi. People coming from Katra can take deluxe bus that runs daily at 5:30pm (Katra-Manali). Confirm the time beforehand. Staying: There are many options available in all price ranges. We would recommend 'The Manali Inn' where we stayed. Their package was almost complete to take care of most of our needs. Still,we would suggest you to explore as there are more competitive packages available with every season change.

It Is Enchanting As Ever Before
I travelled from Delhi - Chandigarh by morning Shatabadi Train separture at 7.40. Reached Chandigarh at 11.15 in the morning & started our onward journey to Manali in Pre- booked Cab. It Is 10 hours long journey covering distance of 310 km. in between 2-3 stoppages for lunch , tea, refreshments etc... Reached Manali hotel at 9.30 in night & transferred to our rooms within 10 minutes of our arrival. The manager himself was waiting on the reception for our arrival , he often queried about our arrival time while we were on our way to Manali. After refreshing ourselves ,had light dinner in hotel restaurant & straight away hit the bed as it was 10.30 already & we had to get up at 3'o clock early morning to go to Rohtang Pass. The precautions one should take while travelling to & in Manali is , first travel light stomach , dont gulp heavy fried dishes before & during the journey. good for you health & others too.Or you may while sick .Carry light woolens while travelling, Beacuse weather in & around Manali can change in no time.It is my personal advise to all the tourists that they should visit this place only if you are physically fit enough to face the rough road & weather conditions.Best time to visit this place is between May - June & if you love to enjoy only snow than October - December. Well that's all for now . Have a happy & safe journey to Manali. It is definitely worth visiting this place at least once in your life time

SWITZERLAND OF INDIA - MANALI !!!
It was not easy decision to make of how to travel from Delhi – Manali & visiting sightseeing’s. Well as I mentioned that I have to keep my budget in control. So after a brief research I decided to break my journey in to 2 parts .Initially I was left with 3 options to choose from. First option was to take a direct deluxe bus from Delhi – Manali , travellling 16 hours by bus & that too most of the night journey & about 100 kms. Of mountain road & same journey schedule for coming back gave me creeps. The other point which I would like to make is that suppose if this journey is to be made by my friends who don’t belong to delhi but are coming from Kolkata, Chennai , Hyderabd , Bangalore etc.. Already travelled a long distance to reach Delhi & from their onwards this journey by bus could be a real tiring & there are chances that you may get sick. So, this option was dropped instantly. The second option was to travel by train from delhi – chandigarh & then by car from Chandigarh – manali .But again this option was dropped when gathered information that the train timings & then travel by car to manali doesn’t click together & doesn’t suit us , again the night journey by road was involved, you guys must be thinking why I am not in favor of night journey , the reason is simple guys if you travel at night by road you are going to miss the most beautiful sightseeing’s on the way to Manali, so travel in day time & reach manali by evening admiring the nature’s beauty all the way . So the 3rd & the only best option left was to travel by train from Delhi – Pathankot & then by car from Pathankot – Manali. This turned out be a perfect travelling plan for us & I am thankful to god for making it such a pleasant trip. The route which we shall follow to manali was Pathankot – Palampur – Jogindernagar – Mandi – Kullu – Manali . The route itself made us feel excited that what kind of sights we shall be witnessing all the way.Just about 100 metres away from club house there is a small restaurant called Tibet kitchen on the roadside. we decided to have our lunch at this place. The food was really good .

Manali -- Peace, Tranquility & Snow In Abundance
Manali is almost 575 km from Delhi and takes anything from 14-16 hours non-stop drive. With children or senior citizens plan to stopover midway for the night at Swarghat or Bilaspur [HPTDC Hotels avl] with advance booking. For Rohtang, start early at 0500hrs. to beat the crowd and watch the first golden rays of the sun kiss the mountain peaks. Negotiate hard with the woollen dress shops, sledge and ski rides at Rohtang and the horse rides at Solang Valley. Don't forget to taste the Yak Cheese [Rs.700/kg] at the German Bakery on the Mall.
