In summer season I advice to travel in AC sleeper coach only. You get a good sleep and be fresh for the next day. Carry coffee and good quality water in bus. Avoid road side shops. Carry necessary medicine if required. And also remember to carry ATM cards/ credit cards etc and mobile phone charger.

The overall traveling experience was good and the road was in good condition, with minimum traffic and lots of sightseeing places in between; we had a very good time. It is safe to travel on this road, during night with family! You can also find many fuel pump stations on the way that are open 24/7; besides there many food courts too where you can get down for a little refreshment.

Rameshwaram & Journey photos
The distance between Kochi and Rameshwaram, is almost 485 km and it takes a little less than nine hours from Kochi to Rameshwaram, with a comfortable break in between. The route is as follows: Muvattupuzha - Munnar - Usilampatti - Madurai - Rameshwaram. The road very good for most of the distance and supports travelling at a good speed. Only when the road enters Kerala, does it become narrow for a short distance.
