Best mode of travel is by one's own vehicle. Though Jolarpettai junction is close by, transport is one thing that could make you feel crippled at times.

There are probably lots of ways to get to Yelagiri. I'm sure there is no shortage of buses and trains from Bangalore, Chennai, and other cities in the south. We simply drove in from Bangalore. NH 7 up to Krishnagiri, Turn left at Krishnagiri on to NH 46. Drive about 50 Km. down NH 46 till the turn off to Yelagiri, which is about 33 Km. from the Jolarpet junction. CAUTION: Please DO NOT attempt driving the last 14 KM up into the Yelagiri Hills if it is RAINING, and particularly if it is raining heavily. Rock falls are common, and the size of the rocks is such that they can do considerable damage to a battle tank. Maruti Wagon Rs don't stand a GHOST of a chance.

I would suggest travelling by car is the best from chennai or from Blore. There are many trains to Jolnarpet from where it 23 kms. There also buses from Chennai and blore to this places.
