if you have motion sickness go darjeeling from njp through main road.otherwise go through pankhabari....it is shorter & view is better.chose a hotel in mall ....try heritage hotels .....kanchanjunga is best visible in october .....fix a date in october end after durgapuja festival is over.always book toy train in advance like normal train booking.darjeeling mail uttarbanga express kanchankonya express are good option from kolkata (sealdah)but flight to bagdogra is better option.from njp to darjeeling ,its 3 hr journey by car & 7 hrs by toy train.

Darjeeling mail from Kolkata is the best option. From NJP station share jeep Rs.200 per person or Alto /sumo Rs.1400 to 1800 full car bargain is there. Light woolen clothes

Keep winter wears with you ... No need to carry hard cash in much quantity... Just enjoy with nature... Do not visit too much spots if you want to enjoy nature and I feel Darjeeling local is much beautiful because if you will plan for other nearby place like Koersing, pelling or Gangtok in a single tour, you may all time be traveling and not able to enjoy the beauty of nature.... Reaching Siliguri or NJP by train is a good method and from there private taxi service is good they charge rs 120 per person.. you can travel by toy train but prior booking is required. if you want to go by plain bagdogra airport is nearest... DO not visit in rainy season... and if visiting near dussera or in vacation time please book your hotel in advance because at that time it is almost next to impossible to find a accommodation...

Better season to see the Snow Capped Kanchenjunga Peak is in the month of October when the sky is Clear. Presently there were clouds, so we could not see Kanchunjunga Peak. You can reach Darjeeling by Train upto New jalpaiguri and By Air upto Bagdogra Airport. From there about 90 km distance of Darjeeling has to be travelled by Taxi.
