Both AIR INDIA and GOAIR that we travelled by offered excellent services. GO AIR even better that AIR INDIA because when out DELHI-LEH flight was not given a landing clearance at LEH due to bad weather, they brought us back to Delhi and offered to travel again with them any time up to next one year without paying even a single pai or to get back the entire ticket money that was paid by us! Exceptional !
We are group of 6 members from 2 families from Kolkata(WB) had a tourism plan for Leh-Ladakh during July-2015 and with feedback & inputs from our collogues, we decided & chose hotel Gawaling International, Leh for our Leh to Leh customised land package tour including accommodation, fooding,...more »
The car was good and we travelled freely all the places where ever we wanted to visit. The sceneries were beautiful, the scenic beauties through the car attracts me very much, the car driver was a good person. Travellers should take medicine at the time of journey because there was low oxygen, take mineral waters to drink, don't take food on the roads. Choose good hotels and restaurants for lunch. Carry warm woolen jackets, sweaters, mufflers, hats. The cold winds will make you sick, sun cream is necessary for your skin because the sun is scorching in the days.
It is a good train for those who want to go to Leh-Ladakh from Shimla-Kullu or Manali.
We booked 3-tier AC. And we took food from Howrah Station for the first night. After that we ordered food from IRCTC. Then we took our hired car and visited Shimla. Also the Next day we Visited Kullu did river-rafting and by evening we reached Manali. We stayed for 1 day at Manali and the next day we went to Sarchu through Rohtang Pass. This road has little adventures and you should take an experienced driver because the distance is not little. In the next day we started from Sarchu and went to Ladakh through Pang and Ladakh Valley. I advise you to avoid this road if you have family with female and old person. This is an adventurous road and you may have little bit of headache at Sarchu as it is in high altitude (approx 14000 ft).
I remind you once again that if you have a family and you want a comfortable and cosy journey then you should choose flight to Leh or you should take car from Srinagar and go through Kargil to Leh, because the way through Manali is not comfortable but adventurous.
The train was not on time. We like this train because this is the only train from Kolkata and is the best among all. We travelled in 3 AC class and that was good. Food was available and the train does not pass any interesting place. Toilet was clean, bedding was fresh and seats were in good condition. AC was fine. We do not find any food stall in any big stations but there was only one stall and that was Comesom and its food was expensive.
Timing was very good, overall view from plane was excellent. Service was good. Although the capacity of plane was small still itís a great experience. Take the window seat at the back side to see the snow capped mountains peaks, this type of view canít be seen from other flight experience.
