The trip was exiting, we all faced a new experience and besides that we made a lot of new friends. It was fun to talk to them and to know there destination and so on. The toilet facility was not so good but I thing is that they have done their best. I was so excited about the trip so I enjoyed everything on the way.
The best time to start will be early mornings, when the traffic is less and you can have a comfortable drive. The road is also good. There are lots of speed breakers at different areas till Adoor, to regulate speeding. Lately there are lots of cameras installed by the MVD to Dept. to track speeders. It is best to keep this in mind and control your urge and also to keep you own as well as others safety in mind.
The Main Central Road(MC) is good to travel, though it has several curves and bumps. The journey is comfortable, because of the greenery all along the road side. There is no heavy traffic. The road is almost well maintained. Not much of gutters. Now many people going Ernakulam use the road upto Changanacherry and use the Alappuzha Changanacherry road.
Train journey is usually better for long distance travels like mine.. Better don't be too bothered about timings coz train timings are not always accurate.. Journey overall was comfortable! :) Any ways Janshadabdi is a great train to choose because they hardly bring you to the destination late!
Its hard to find good condition roads in Kerala. But the road from Thiruvananthapuram to Kottayam (M C Road) is an exception. Good to drive. Route is as follows-Thiruvananthapuram, Kotarakkara, Adoor, Thiruvalla, Changanassery, Kottayam. We went by my Swift Zxi the perfect car and a near perfect road. Both complimented each other.
