Ganga gomti is best train for Lucknow to Allahabad and Allahabad to Lucknow. Train is good there is no need for reservation. It takes around 5 hours to reach Allahabad. Train most of the time on correct time. Toilets are not cleaned. The rain gets overloaded till unchahar.

Road trip from Lucknow to Allahabad can be divided into 2 parts. Part one journey between Lucknow and Raibareilly (80 km) is extremely good as the road has been widened and is a 4 lane highway. However journey between Raibareilly to Allahabad is really painful as the road is not wide and road is not in good condition.
Trains have facilities such as bathroom, big seat, speed and other's. I like train travel the most, due to heavy tour programme by office. So the train is very good for travelling. Train went through many cities and states, so the good journey also demanded a good train.
Started journey from Allahabad to Lucknow by AC Volvo. It was an excellent trip to Lucknow. We got well relaxed environment. No crowd just enjoyed without any problem. Stopped at Rai Bareli for few minutes for hot tea etc. Well co-operative driver and conductor.
The distance between Lucknow and Allahabad, is almost 200 km and it takes more or less four hours of driving, to reach Allahabad from Lucknow. There are many trains and buses that run between these two places, but the best way to travel to Allahabad from Lucknow, is by driving your own vehicle. Though heavy traffic can make driving difficult sometimes, the roads are in good condition and the journey can be a memorable one. From Lucknow, take the NH – 24B and drive for 43 km to reach Bachhrawan and 23 km more on same road to Raebareli. Continue on the NH – 24B to reach Kunda, 73 km away from Raebareli. From Kunda, Allahabad is just 53 km.
