Its best to go by one's own vehicle. During mela time, 'savaari' autos ply, having seating capacity of 8-10 people. The place is infamously crowded. Parking may be available rather far. While shoppping, bargaining is usually required.

Route Delhi-Gurgaon-Rewari-Mahendragarh; locals are pleasantly helpful. Having your own vehicle is advised or a taxi; public transport till and within Narnaul is tolerable but not for out of town excursions. The Dhosi climb can get excruciatingly tiring if you are not comfortable with trekking. Mine entry has a lot of restrictions, so please do your spade work before you land up there.
