Allahabad is very well-connected with all the major cities of India, and you get direct trains from almost all major cities.It is not, however, served by any major airlines.If it is your first visit, do engage a guide, though it is always better if you take tips from a local friend or acquaintance,if you have one. Let me clarify that Allahabad is not the destination for those whose idea of a holiday is to visit night clubs and discos; they will do well to choose other destinations!
