The summers are hot and the monsoon time is obviously damp. Winters can get freezing cold in the mornings but still bearable as compared to the heat at any other time of the year.

Kanha can be reached via Jabalpur (150km) and Nagpur (250km) by road. We traveled via Nagpur, and the road is alright, except for a few very bad patches between Sioni and Nainpur. It takes about 5.5 hours on an average. If you are staying at MPTDC resort inside the reserve, you should keep in mind that the reserve closes at 10 pm. During summers the chances of spotting wildlife is highest, but days can be very hot, so appropriate clothing should be carried (caps, sunglasses, sunscreens). There is also significant amount of dust at this point, so people allergic to it, must be careful.
