However, the best way to reach Coastal Malabar from Mangalore is by train, which takes around 8 hours. There are various trains that connect Aluva, situated 23 km away from Costal Malabar, to Mangalore but the best option is the Maveli Express, which runs on a daily basis. The train leaves from Mangalore at 5:45 pm and reaches Aluva by 1:50 am in the morning. It takes around half an hour to reach Coastal Malabar from the Aluva Railway Station.
