We travelled by boat from Gateway of India. The car picked us from the jetty and dropped us back to. It was an Innova and the drive was beautiful. The greenery was lovely and the lovely fishing village has been transformed. The drive was enjoyable and comfortable.
Itís good for one day and night journey and travel by bus was good. I visited Kihim Beach on the first day and stayed there only. There were some sort of resort and stay was also available without much cost. The food was also good as it was like our home lunch. Alibaug Beach is nice and be secure and take your your return ticket by boat in the morning to avoid tension due to non- availability of ticket in the evening.
Good, I love long drives. Its nice trip by road, always there is little bit traffic on this route and currently expressway work is going on this route and it may take more 5 yrs. :) Better to complete little early. Toll is not an issue if road is good.
We decided to go to Alibaug last night and departed from Mumbai in the morning. So we have taken the decision to go by MSRTC Bus and we reached Dadar TT and took a semi sleeper bus. The bus is in very good condition and the conductor is a very nice person. He guided us to which place you have to visit in Alibaug. The travel time is around 3 to 3.5 hours and it was a nice trip.
Our journey included local train, taxi, ferry, auto. As it was Friday, we left early and we took first-class ticket and boarded a Churchgate Train from Borivali. From Churchgate Station we took a cab for Gateway of India. We took ferry from there which takes 45 mins to reach Mandwa Beach. PNP has the best service and one has to book ticket in advance for PNP, rest you can get on the spot. This ferry service guys have bus service from Mandwa to Alibaug, but we took rickshaw from Mandwa to Alibaug which cost us 400 (fixed rate they will not negotiate).
