Mode of Transport:Train
We had to board the train from Mumbai and got down at Ratnagiri Station. From there we took a rickshaw which charged 450 Rs. IRCTC is the best way to travel to Ganpatiphule. Alternatively if you live in Maharashtra you can drive as well. Nice scenic beauty. Trains make your journey time saving.

We went to Ganpatiphule for a weekend trip to have a break in the routine with our friends. Abhishek Beach Resort is a good Hotel. The rooms are good and spacious. The hotel had good food. We had almost all our meals in the hotel. There was no pool within the premises. The staff was very...more »

Travelling from Kolhapur to Ganpatipule through Malkapur was too good. Proper roads, no potholes, lovely view of greenery and sea. We were not tired of travelling for four hours as the place is non polluted. Always prefer MTDC for a night stay. Food is tantalizing, beach is close to the resort. Tariff is affordable for the quality of the resort.

Visit the temple, offer your puja. Morning 7.00 a.m. you can perform abhishek - which takes you close to Ganesha. Remember not to miss the Pradikshina round the mountain which is I suppose one and only one temple with such pradiskhina.

You wouldn't know how you reached your destination! Since the train is at the night time, our journey got completed while we were asleep. We didn't have to carry dinner/breakfast etc. Most importantly time got saved in our journey. After getting off at Ratnagiri Station, we took an auto rickshaw to Ganpatipule conveniently.

Mode of Transport:Bus
It is a private sector tie up with MTDC. Though the bus condition is good but for punctuality, very very poor. We had to wait at the road side for around 1.5 hrs, even though we called to the conductor and then started from the home. During the wait period, I called around 5-6 times to the conductor, every time he gave me the same answer, "will be reaching at the stop in 10-15" minutes and we waited fro a 1.30Hrs at the night 10 o clock.

We have visited this place in December. Ganapatipule do not have much spots to visit. But in this resort once can stay for two to three days for a leisure. The location is situated on the beach. One can see and listen the sound of the waves of the see from the room. Especially it is very much...more »

The Pune Bangalore highway is superb but one we turn on the state highway, one can imagine the position of it. There are petrol pumps, dhabas, hotels on the highway. Whenever we visit ganapatipule, we generally carry our own tiffin (breakfast as well as dry lunch). My family likes to go for such long drives hearing to old songs. rnrnWhen we decide to travel to any place more than 300 kms, we get up early in the morning at 0400am so that we can be on the highway at 0600am. If you leave early, you can easily travel at 80kms per hour and reach at least100 kms away from the early traffic. rnrnTry not to eat non veg on the highway as you never know if it is fresh. You are bound to get sick on the way. If you yourself are driving stick to eating light food and may be cold drinks to give enough energy to drive without any sickness and sleep. rnrnHave your tyres of the car filled with nitrogen which reduces the risk of tyre bursts on highways by 65% to 70%. I am not a businessman but I generally feel free when there is the cool nitrogen in my car's tyres.

The sole purpose of this visit was to visit the Ganesh Temple at Ganapatipule religiously.
We had booked a Kokani house for 2 nights 3 days. The maintenance of this Kokani house was excellent. We were 5 people out of which 2 were senior citizens.
