We had travelled by our own car from Mumbai to Nasik by Mumbai-Agra national highway no 3. About 170 km of journey from Mumbai gives you a breath warming experience for lifetime. It takes around 3-4 hours of travel time for reaching Nasik. En route you can visit a beautiful village Igatpuri with natural beauty.
The travel was nice but was a bit slow because of the construction. But still was nice and better than Mumbai had some food in the roadside. Loved the local food, a bit spicy but still nice. Road are a bit sandy most of the time. It took approx 4-5 hrs to reach the hotel.
The route by road from Mumbai to Nasik is very scenic after one leaves the Kalyan/Bhiwandi area. The road is quite good and there are several places one can stop by on the way for tea/snacks/washroom. The ghat section after Kasara and up to Igatpuri is particularly good. The traffic on the whole is not usually very heavy and in-around three hours one can reach Nasik from Mumbai during day time by a good vehicle. The only bottleneck would be in the Kalyan/Bhiwandi area especially in the evenings.
Well-maintained road to travel. You can click pics on the way to Nasik at place like Kasara Ghat. We have so much of fun and there are many hotel, dhabas to have some food. We make halt at Kamad KFC which was around 100 kilometres from Mumbai. The road is quite straight road where you can drive easily.
When you go by bus you can see lots of green ghats and you can have good ride on the bus. There is music player in the bus and music aswell as movie is shown. One can meet lot's of people in the bus and can interact and make friends.
