Night time travelling is best to Kerala as it is nearly 600 km to reach via Theni or Thekkady to Idukki district of Kerala, we started our journey at 7.30 pm evening from Chennai to Kerala, we stopped nearly more than seven to ten time as our wish for our foods and tea and snacks on the way as this is the main cause to choose a car travelling to stop by our choice. if you you want to take bath at early morning in waterfalls means it is on the way to journey as you have nearly three waterfalls near Theni and Cumbum, mainly Suruli falls as you can reach it by early morning 5.00 to 6.00 am depend upon a normal driving time so you can take a fresh dip in water, after bathing in it you may feel light on your health, after taking bath you may have break fast at 7.00 am and take back journey to Idukki district as it is nearly 30 km from Suruli falls to Thekkady on your way you may find more and more places to see around here also boating and elephant safari and etc. From this place it's 100 km to Munnar as you will reach by noon after taking all rides on Thekkady as it is a check in time of hotels in Kerala, after some refreshments you can roam all over Idukki districts by planning your ways to the places as all of them in different directions and you must have to decide in which way you finish it first, and at 6 pm you can choose to visit all over the places. The city is calm after the sunset and all of them will not awake all night but you can enjoy your way of celebrations, mainly if you go hill stations those people work from sun rise to sun set only as they have not enough lightings and you too not to waste the time by sleeping at morning as you may not see places after sunset, you can enjoy near by places as you wish as you can get the maps also in a small petty shops, don't miss the morning breakfast (Puttu and Banana), tea, chips, sweets in Kerala, travelling period of minimum three days will suit to all of us to roam around, in my experience I ask all of you not to spent the time by sleeping or playing at rooms as you will not see all the places nearby in Idukki district in three days of journey time. If you have time you may connect your road to Kodaikanal which is nearly 160 km in your return, the loveable Kerala which have pleasant climate and caves, elephants, forests, trekking, boating, hill sides, and much more to see and explore your self.

Alleppey Express, its arrives on time and the train is in good condition. I travelled in second class with my colleges and the train goes via Vellore, Kadpadi, etc. etc. I slept in the train and when I woke up I didn't know where I was but its nice to see out from the window, the long forest, hills and the cute trees.

Train is somewhat good but water is not enough in the coaches. Toilets are clean and beddings are good, electricity is not there and only few plugs are working.

We travelled by hyundai I20 from Chennai to Munnar. We took a break at Madurai at night and visited temple early in the morning. Then we started at 9 am and reached Munnar by 12.30 pm as the hotel check in time was 12 noon. The roads from Chennai to Munnar are all high ways and are well-maintained. Best time to drive the ghat road is morning. You will feel comfortable by wheel and enjoy the ride too. There are lot of sightseeing spots on the way which you can see as you drive by like view point, photo point etc.

I am travelled in my own S U V car. The roads are good and clean. The best time to travel is day time please avoid night and evening time and restaurants and dhabas are good instead of going to hotels we prepare good food at home and eat while travelling and enjoy the trip without spoiling our health. Thank you.

Mode of Transport:Flight
Travelled from Chennai to Cochin by flight and check-in was quick. Ground staff were efficient and helpful. Flight legroom was tight but the seats were ok for a short 2 hours flight and the crew were friendly. As expected from a budget carrier there was no in flight entertainment but the in-flight magazine was nice. As the flight was not full they have allowed little extra luggage without charge and both the time we reached before the scheduled and arrival time.
