From Mumbai, we reached Banglore by morning flight where we had vehicle arranged for Bandipur. Route is Banglore / Mysore (130 kms) / Bandipur (80kms) - Takes around 5 hours including two halts of 15 to 20 mins each. Road condition upto Mysore is very good (four lanning); further it is double lane road. Better reach Bandipur well before sunset; you loose connectivity after you cross Mysore and there are hardly any population on road. If interested in Forest safaris, please go prepared with cloths as close to colors of nature as possible (brown / light green / mild yellow) and necessarily avoid Red / black. Remember to switch off flash mode of your camera before you set in forest and start shooting; animals get scared and spotting them becomes difficult. Maintain as much silence as possible and just relish NATURE.

Light warm clothing and trekking shoe. From Bangalore - Mysore -on to the Ooty highway, before Bandipur you will come across a village called Hangala take right here and drive about 12-15 kms on the hill.

It is always better to hire a taxi from Mysore if you do not have one of your own since the resorts such as Tusker Trials, Tiger Ranch, Country Club etc. can be approached only by private vehicles. Other than this no risk is involved.

The nearest big city is Mysore around 85 kms from the hill, this is situated in the right side of a village called hangala on your way to Ooty from Mysore. This is a part of Bandipur national park.

From Bangalore you need to go to Mysore and then to Gundlupet and then Bandipur. Its about 4 hrs of drive. Good roads. If you love photogrpahy then this route is extremely beautiful.
