The route is Thane - Eastern Xpressway - Igatpuri - Ghoti. Ghoti is around 6 km after Igatpuri. There's a right diversion from ghoti that leads to Bhandardara, just after the toll naka at Igatpuri. Mumbai Nasik Highway is in the process of being converted into a 4 lane one. So the progress up to Igatpuri was rather slow with lots of diversions/long queues of trucks. But once beyond Ghoti, really enjoyed the drive. The 6-7 km strech that you need to pass through the middle of Ghoti town is a pain though. The quality of road beyond is just about good enough.

Road condition is bad for all 12 months. Get a private vehicle if possible, no probs if u dont have one State Transport buses ply at regular interval which can drop you on the highway from where you can hitchhike to the nearest railway station. If you are travlling from Mumbai I would recommend you to take the Mumbai Nasikh highway while going and while comming back find the route via Malshej NH222

Have a strong car, since the roads are not too good to reach. The hill station is 30 kms on the hill, so one might think that we are heading no where but just persist and u will reach Bhandardara. Go in the monsoons and u can feel the clouds in your face
