Shirdi visit on 02nd April 2010 - Too much crowd

Post by Niranjan | Bhopal | Apr 8, 2010

Reaching Shirdi is by Taxi / Auto from Kopargaon. However if you are planning to visit Shani Shingnapur or Nasik and want to go by taxi, please be clear in explaining to him about your destination, whether it is up to hotel or till railway station. We booked a taxi for the whole day, but was dropped off at the railway station. Instead of at Hotel in Nasik. To go to our Hotel, we had to avail another taxi after reaching Nasik, is it not a joke. No it actually happened and the taxi driver said this is the trend there.

A weekend pilgrimage

Post by Sumit | Bangalore | Apr 1, 2007

We travelled from Bangalore to Shirdi via the Karnataka Express which has a one minute halt at the nearest Station Kopargaon. From Kopargaon its a 20min ride in auto which costs you about Rs.70/80 (non-shared). We came back via flight from Pune which is about 240 km away from Shirdi. Actually Bombay is also just about 270km away so in terms of flight/train connectivity is a much better option.

Visit to Shirdi

Post by Bharzontravel | Bangalore | Dec 30, 2010

Plan your trip in advance if you want to have quiet darshan without many people around go on a Mon or Tuesday which we did, The crowd start to thicken from Wednesday and Thursday is good day to avoid unless you want to be on Thrusday. Plan you travel options because getting tickets is a very difficult. If you plan to travel by train start booking your tickets 2 months before your planned travel date, If flying atleast 2 weeks advance booking is appropriate. for stay review you option by looking at travel adviser websites like trip adviser, Holiday ID and many others. There decent hotels available between range of 800 to 1500 for double accommodation. We stayed at Hotel Bhagyalakshmi for 1 night at of 2500 for Triple occupancy.
