Agra is located at about 197 km from Delhi. Agra is a city on the banks of the river Yamuna in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh and is well-connected to Delhi by roadways and railways. However, the best way to travel from Delhi to Agra is by car, a journey of over 2 hours via the new Yamuna Expressway. The six-lane expressway covers 165 km. Some of the important places covered on the way are Delhi - 30km -> Faridabad - 60km -> Hodal - 55km -> Mathura - 52km -> Agra. On the route, several petrol pumps of Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil and HP, apart from hospitals and pharmacies, ATMs and road-side dhabas are located.

The Expressway from Noida is made brilliantly and is for driving in speed. The scenery is good, road condition very nice and time just fly's by. I would recommend starting early in the morning from Delhi to avoid morning traffic and make good time. Carry something to munch on as there are not many options along the way. But this is the best way to reach Agra from Delhi.
Taj Expressway has good connectivity between NCR and Agra. Should not take more that 3 hrs from Delhi. Please be sure of right tyre pressure and carry water and food for kids as very less/no options available on the Yamuna Expressway. Missed the roadside dhabas!
Journey was good but tiring. Avoid starting late from Delhi. Start early morning before 5 Am this will avoid traffic and make journey good. Coming back also will be a problem. Start early in order to avoid heavy traffic specially trucks.
I have also train by train and I think that is much better.
The fastest of the Indian train route. The train run 150 Km/Hr. Its takes 2 hr to reach from Delhi to Agra. And the train catering system was very good.
