Agra is located at about 197 km from Delhi. Agra is a city on the banks of the river Yamuna in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh and is well-connected to Delhi by roadways and railways. However, the best way to travel from Delhi to Agra is by car, a journey of over 2 hours via the new Yamuna Expressway. The six-lane expressway covers 165 km. Some of the important places covered on the way are Delhi - 30km -> Faridabad - 60km -> Hodal - 55km -> Mathura - 52km -> Agra. On the route, several petrol pumps of Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil and HP, apart from hospitals and pharmacies, ATMs and road-side dhabas are located.

I must admit the ride to Agra was smooth and pleasant. The highway is in very good condition, there's not much traffic, if any. I had driven there twice, once in the morning and once in the late afternoon, both times avoided the traffic jam. I would recommend to anyone who stays in Delhi to wander off to Agra by car, it's a quick ride, around 2.5 hours each way. There are even decent rest stops on the way with clean bathrooms.
Good experience with own car. Went by the expressway. Would suggest not to gain high speeds on express way as many accidents occur due to it. Would also suggest to check health of car before journey, specially water, coolant, other equipment that can heat up during driving.
I mostly prefer AC bus in summer. We were planning for a vacation in Delhi and Agra and after going through numerous reviews online settled with creative journey.
Journey was good and Yamuna expressway is a very good option in case of bus route. I think if bus staff provide on-board entertainment then it's good for us. If somebody want's to go to Agra then always go by morning four.
We travelled early morning from Delhi to Agra. The road journey was very convenient with children as well. We stopped in the rest area on the way to have some breakfast and then headed towards Taj Mahal. We reached by 10 am and it was not very crowded. The journey to Fatehpur Sikri was also quick and it was a very good experience.
