Train journey was good. Hired an alto cab from Kathgodam railway station to club mahindra resort. The journey in the cab was tiresome. It was a very long drive and amidst mountains. Do take some chatpati type candies if that makes you feel better. The cab journey can be very exhausting.

I visited with my friends. We were looking for somewhere between a relaxing journey and an adventurous trip. This location offered us both. The scene from our balcony was pretty great. The hotel staff was very helpful. They had a badminton court and a table tennis table. Went for trekking for...more »

Nothing more to say but superb - I drove for 10 straight hours and there was nothing like tiredness when I reached Binsar - The cool fresh air, the view and everything else around was so refreshing that I was ready to go hiking immediately after we reached.

The property, Binsar Eco Camp is good. Excellent view, superb location, give you a terrific "early morning wake up" view when you get up in the morning and get out of your room.

The Mehra's are an extremely warm family and Sandy the dog is the main attraction. If you love dogs you...more »

The road trip was awesome with lots of places for sightseeing but beware of heavy rains. If you have hit the mountains and it starts raining quite heavily, then consider halting and even staying at a hotel if it gets dark. It's quite risky driving in such set-up.

You will find water streams flowing down the hills through the roads. The worst part of these streams is that sometimes rocks flow through these streams and settle down on the gaps of the road hidden in the stream. Or sometimes this flow cover the huge pits and valleys and you might be fooled to think that there might be a road in the front.

So driving becomes quite challenging and best thing is to avoid it in heavy rains. Therefore, my advice will be to just halt at a hotel or a restaurant and enjoy the rain and the atmosphere as you would normally do. And don't forget to enjoy the beauty of Himalayas in any case.

The owner there did quite a magnificent work in creating a paradise there from just a barren land. Yes he spent all his life there planting plants and flowers and what he got was a beautiful bird sanctuary.

The main purpose of visit was a relaxing trip but it grew into a adventure...more »

We started early morning from our residence from Delhi and it took about 7 hours for Bhimtal. We stayed at Bhimtal for two days and again in the morning we left for Binsar. It took about 6 hours and the journey was pleasant for Binsar. We stayed in Binsar at Mahindra for two nights and enjoyed the natural beauty along with other family members and came back to Delhi.
