From Bangalore, take the Mysore Highway. I is just a 150 KM drive and the road is in an excellent condition. You will really enjoy the drive. For people relying on public transport, you can take a Volvo from Bangalore. Every half an hour a Volvo departs from Bangalore to Mysore. Train from Bangalore not recommended unless you use the upmarket ones. Bus is comfortable or Car as gives you more mobility. Avoidable during the Holiday season and Dussera as it gets crowded . You can get very good bargains upto 30 percent off on Rooms in the Resorts around during the weekdays which have pools etc.
