Puri is well connected by train from Howrah. All the major South bound trains hals at Bhubaneshwar, the nearest junction and airport ( around 70 kms). Being the state capital, Bhubaneshwar is also connected by train from New Delhi and Chennai. Flight frequencies, although, are not that much.

Puri is very well connected with Kolkata and New Delhi.Kolkata is the nearest major international airport while the state capital (60 km) is the nearest domestic airport.Puri has its own station, which is well connected with Kolkata and New Delhi. Bhubaneshwar, is in important junction connected with nearly all the major cities of India. Bus services are also available between Kolkata and Puri frequently. Make it a point to carry mosquito repellant with you.

Bhubaneswar ,the capital of Orissa, is just about two hours drive from Puri , the railroad taking about half an hour less. Bhubaneswar is well connected by the railroad as well by air to all the state capitals of india as well as to the national capital of Delhi. Since the call of the sea is irresistible here ,it is best to stay in a hotel near the sea beach so as to facilitate a fast bath in fresh water after a session in the saline waters .

The best way to reach Puri is by rail. It is well connected by major cities of India by a lot of Express Trains. However, one can fly to Bhubaneswar and then take a cab to reach Puri.
