My experience was a surreal one. The train experience in Jan Shatabdi was good and I had a lot of fun during the 14 km "chadai". It was really cold but I had a great time with friends. It is highly recommended to go there during winter. The scenery is beautiful plus you get a divine view of the mountains. A must visit place.
It was very good to travel by train to Vaishno Devi. I got a hotel nearby Katra due to my bookings which was already made through internet. I enjoyed a lot with my friends and more interestingly, I got to see the Ardhkunwari Mata during my trekking to the temple.
I have been to Vaishno Devi three days ago. It is the best experience of my life. The weather was awesome there and I first took a taxi from Jammu for Katra and I stayed there for three hours. I mean it as it is the best experience of my life.
I am travelling to Vaishno Devi temple from Delhi to Jammu by road. I will reach Katra by morning 8.The NH-1 is excellent from Delhi to Ludhiana and from Ambala to Jalandhar. Depends on what time you leave Delhi there may be heavy truck traffic en-route. But the road is good from Jalandhar to Pathankot is a nightmare full of potholes, and we decided to avoid that route in September. We took the route from Jalandhar to Amritsar to Pathankot, which is a bit longer but we stopped at the Golden temple. Pathankot to Jammu is a 100 kilometre stretch where four lanes are in progress almost half the way. Jammu Katra is fine except for heavy traffic. Amazing experience by car
