Very long drive or too lengthy drive or a boring journey. Also there was no time to pass while travelling with family. Not comfortable with the local languages itís another big problem with my family and a bit more about managing the next destination. Too tired from this type of trip.

The car was the best selection we got to have from the travel agent. The agent offered us his best option of a new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The car was very spacious for three of us. Also it help us a lot to overcome the hilly nausea effect which is a common problem for not so frequent hilly travellers.

The driver of the car was very co-operative and he was more than a driver to us. He was a fellow companion who helped us choose the best dhabas, restaurant and market options for us.

He would suggest us the best time to see certain spots and also told us to avoid some areas which would not be effective for us considering our jam packed tour routine.

If anyone wants to have a guide cum driver I would suggest to hire him for your trip next time. The driver name is Praveen and he would be available in Mysore. His contact number is 09844137490. Contact him directly for any discount if any from his end. If you book him through travel agent then the agent share would be extra. The car is very spacious to carry sufficient luggage.

The experience of enjoying Ooty would be incomplete if you do not see the " Filmy Chakkar" which is a vast hilly surrounding where most of the Bollywood film shooting is done.
If lucky you could be seeing some Bollywood celebrity with whom you could even get to capture some photographs if...more »

We started early morning from Mysore. The road till Nanjangud is under construction. After Nanjangud, it was a good journey through Bandipur National Sanctuary(KA) and Mudumalai National Park (TN).

We traveled via Masinagudi. This road is meant for expert drivers. There are about 36-38 hairpin turns on this route. As it is on hill terrain and visibility of the vehicles may be a issue, would advise drivers to use horn. The road is good and beautiful scenery around. We reached Ooty within 4 hours.

While returning we came by much longer route, because we wanted to visit Pykara waterfalls. The road was very bad and was in shambles, at least till we reached Mudumalai National Park. We had to travel very slow. It took us almost 7 hours to reach Mysore.

We travelled in our own car and the journey in the car was good. Fully busy traffic was there from Mysore to Nanjangud and the roads are in very worst conditions. After Nanjangud journey took its excitement as weather was excellent.
