Carry lot of warm clothes since the weather is always quite chilly and do carry a good thick raincoat too coz it might rain any time. One has to hire a horse or a doli to go up which takes a break at Rambara, a place at 7kms from Gaurikund. . well if your strength and stamina permits, you can also walk up till the pilgrimage.

Quite peaceful, cool, natural place.

We were there by Bus. From Delhi to Haridwar (200 km) by bus, then Haridwar to Gauri Kund(350-400 km) by bus. Starting from Haridwar, after Rishikesh, we travel on hills up to Gauri kund all the way is round and round. If some one has alergy in traveling on hills, must carry vomitting tabs and eat light food as much as possible. woollen clothes are must. While traavelling on hills smell of 'Kapur', eating kishmish or nuts help to prevent cold.
