From Pune we travelled to Nagpur by Neeta Sleeper coach. The travel was comfortable except for the eating breaks... the hotel selection was worst! And also for the delay in reaching Nagpur, it overshot by 2 hours. Further, we had a car at our disposal from Nagpur to Pench and back.

A must visit for wild life lovers !!

Reach Nagpur, and from there it's a 2 hour road journey to Pench Jungles - Winter clothing is a must during Nov-Jan - Best time to visit Jan-Mar (avoid vacation season - its too crowded) - There are 2 open jeep safaries one in the morning and 1 evening costing Rs. 3000/- each, you can also share with another family if possible ( I shared, it saved me lot of money and no discomfort - the Jeep can comfortably carry 8). Undertake as many safaris as possible - you may not spot tigers in 1 or 2 safaries - allocate major share of your budget for the safari - stay in a decent and economic hotel ( majority of the hotels are good ), I stayed in Pench Jungle Camp, its a bit costly - but the hotel and etc., is fantastic !!

Travel in your own vehicle, but it is not allowed to take it inside the reserve. You have to park it outside and then hire a Gypsy which are always available outside the reserve. Bargaining Power is a must. They will start with 2000-2500 per trip (3 hours) but you can get them at around 1250-1400 which is worth. Carry lot of junk food with you so that you can carry it easily and munch on that as not much options available. Proper warning will be given by the local people.
