Preferable mode of transport - Hire a car from Chandigarh - self driven Taxis are expensive. You will spend more on travels within the city if you dont have a self driven vehicle as places are far off. While travelling on a horse, be ware that the saddle is well tied. Shopping prices are very fixed however you can pay the amount as the people there are honest and helpful. They usually ask what the product is worth unlike other tourist destinations.

How to reach By road-Route- Delhi- Karnal- Zirakpur- Panchkula- Kalka- Kandhaghat- Chail- Shilon Bagh Total distance- 380 kms approx. Time taken- 10 hrs approx. By rail- nearest rail station is at Kalka (approx 100 kms from Shilon Bagh) By air- nearest airpad is at Shimla (approx 30 kms from Shilon Bagh) One must make the bookings in advance if one is visiting the place during peak season as the accomodation options are limited at Shilon Bagh. Also local transport is limited at Shilon Bagh. One will have to rely on personal transport or ask the hotel to make arrangements for taxis/ cabs. Apart from this you just have to gear up for a trip in the mountains and you would be heading to a place for complete rejuvenation of mind, body and soul !
