You could reach here with a 40 to 60 minute cab drive from Chennai Railway station / Airport. Sun cream, sun glasses and a well covering hat are a must. Mentally prepared for a long walk to have the best experience!

There are lots of buses from Chennai. TTDC has guided tour from Chennai. We being Chennai residents, just drove on our own. The journey itself is an experience-the ECR (East Coast Road) stretches by the sea-side lined with casurinas..and the road is good too.

We drove down from Bangalore. Good Road. Down the NH7 to Krishnagiri, turn left onto NH47 and then to Sriperumbudur. Turn right onto a very good Tambaram Bye-pass (Toll road) and come out at Vendulur Zoo. Turn left there and keep going till the end of the road which is the ECR, where one turns right and goes straight till Mahabs.
