Great experience travelling by a car. Firstly we took the Pune-Mumbai Expressway then took a left towards, Panvel-Pen Road then straight to Alibaug. Nice scenic beauty throughout the journey. Restaurants, food court and the petrol pumps are also available during the go. Overall, it was a nice experience.
It was good, driver was good and the journey was a peaceful one! The journey was awesome. The buses need maintenance and more cleaning. MSRTC also has to buy new buses. The roads are okay hence the bus needs to be better. Overall, okay experience.
We have tried two different ways to Alibaug and while return journey we took different path. Enjoyed, the driving here and visited most of the nearest palaces by own car, which was also a different and a good experience. I am panning to visit again with my friend/family in next vacation.
I visited this place for an official work, visited the whole of Raigad District. But roads were in bad condition till Madgaon. I took road via Roha, Ramraj to reach Alibaug and was stuck due to pathetic road condition. Since, I travelled around 400 km in a day, it was very hectic by the time I reached Alibaug.
The road, at the time of my trip (Nov 2014) leaves a lot to be desired; but then which road in Maharashtra today does not? The travel on the expressway is great, but the moment you leave the express way, be prepared for pot holes, no signages and narrow two lane roads. Having said that, the road is scenic and drive is enjoyable if the driver and passengers can ignore the condition of the road.
