My Awesome tour. We were started from Pune 12.00 Am through NH 4 & our first destination was Ganpatipule, we reached at 5 am. The journey was great. After refreshing we enjoyed feel of god given natural climate ( A beautiful sea shore ). Now core konkan journey starts. In the next journey we add one new friend (a sea shore). We start from ganpatipule - jaigad - velneshwar - guhagar - harne - anjarle - kelshi - Dapoli - harihareshwar - shriwardhan - diveagar - Tamhini ghat - Lavasa - Pune.
we visited total total 07 sea shore in just 3 days. Total 200 km road through mountain & sea shore. Also we had experience of ferry (Jetty BOAT) 3 times.
we prefer only homestay. "Konkan" really a divine place. "God gifted nature & God gifted people".
Total Journey 800km. We spend 56 ltr diesel.
Please experience "KONKAN" if you "LOVE NATURE & NATURAL"
Except from the Highway, roads are not very good. So called State Highway but suddenly a speed-breaker or a pothole comes. You can't drive more than 40-50 k mph on these roads. Ride is much longer than it should be. Karad-Chiplun Road (326 km) is not so smooth ride. Ambeghat is very scenic drive. You would love to drive from here.
We took NH-4 from Pune and in-between we left the NH route. However the full trip was great, ghats were nice and smooth and safe. Lot of food and waiting places in this route. Roads are comparatively wider than the other ghats, you can easily maintain the speed of 60 km per hour and can reach within 8 hours from Pune.
The journey was an exciting one. We were two families. The ghats and scenery on the way is worth watching. Many feel uneasy during the ghats. This happens if you drink water or eat too much on the way. Avoid this. Anyways, you are not on a trip for eating. Rainy season is also a good one to be there.
