Best way to travel from Pune to Lonavala
Lonavala is located at a distance of 65 km from Pune Famous for a traditional Indian sweet made from ground nuts and jaggery called 'chikki' and popular as a hill station, Lonavala is well connected to Pune by road. However, the best way to reach Lonavala from Pune is by road, a journey of about 1 hour 20 minutes by car. The places covered between Pune and Lonavala are Pune - 43 km -> Kanhe - 4 km -> Khamshet - 18 km -> Lonavala. On the way, here are several ATMs, hospitals and rest stops. Eating joints such as Cafe Punjab, McDonald's and Sher E Punjab are present on the route. Petrol pumps of Hindustan Petroleum (HP) and Indian Oil, among others, are also available at regular intervals en route.

VERY NICE HOLIDAY DESTINATION
Lonavala is on the famous Mumbai Pune expressway. Either drive down or take an ST bus or travel by railway to Lonavala station on CR. Many autorickshaws are available in Lonavala to travel around. Advance booking of hotel, resort or holiday home will ensure you are not fleecerd by agents.

Crowded, dirty, loud, gaudy, yet with a lot to offer
Lonavala is on the Bombay-Pune Expressway and can be reached by a smooth ride from either Bombay or Pune in approximately 2 hours. There are frequent state and private buses that ply between the cities and halt at Lonavala/Khandala. Trains from the cities all halt at the Khandala railway station, which is a short drive from Lonavala. Avoid the summers - too hot. Try to travel during weekdays. Will be less crowded and hotel prices will be realistic.

Hill station
If you have your car drive early morning take a small stop at the food mall on the expressway put your glasses down and smell the lovely pure air take deep breaths lovely drive ( recommend dont drink and drive you will kill youself and others too) for the climate drives you crazy and tempts you to do so even the train journey is good with hot wadas at the karjat station or by the st bus all depends on you take warm clothing its very cool by night and the roads are slippery on the ghats safe journey

Crazy Trip
Traveling can be done with your personal vehicle or rented one also. Travel by bike or car is the best way to reach there. Public transport can't reach till the destination, it can reach till Lonavala.

Lonavala- A Must Visit during Monsoon\'s
Reaching Lonavala is Easy. You can go by Road via Car or Bus or by Rail. There are many travels that offer Bus trips to Lonavala on a daily basis. My personal favourite is going by my own car. The trip gets all the more fun by travelling in your own vehicle.
