The nearest station is the New Mal Junction, just 55km away. The famous route is to reach New Jalpaiguri Station or Bagdogra Airport. From there you can hire a direct car to Lava. Otherwise you have to reach Pani tanki more in Siliguri by Auto, there you can find share jeeps and buses. Its better to reach lava and then hire a car from syndicate there, rates are fixed and locals are honest. Do not fall in the traps of travel agencies offering package tours in Lava in Siliguri or NJP station, they will cost you almost double.

if you go from NJP or Siliguri you can avail rental cars or Government bus service. Can get car service from Drajeeling or Gangtok. Nearest city is Kalimpong. From there there is lots of transport system to reach Lava.
